Opts receives PMA Reggie Award and Recognition in Brandweek

The Promotion Marketing Association (PMA) announced that the Samsung Electronics Digitall Matrix campaign, conducted by Norm Marshall & Associates, has been awarded the 2004 Super Reggie® Award. Presented last night at a gala ceremony during the PMA Annual Conference "Branding 360 Degrees: Building Brands Through the Consumer Experience" in Chicago, the Super Reggie Award was bestowed along with Gold, Silver and Bronze Reggie Awards in 13 categories, honoring the best promotions conducted in 2003.

Washington Mutual scored high grades with the Chicago community and local educational leaders as the bank made its market entry into the windy city with "Teacherpalooza"-a free, all-day festival in Grant Park that focused on education, affordable housing and the attributes of WaMu. The financial services provider attempted to overcome entrenched competition in the Windy City with 60 new locations, grabbing attention with an event that included an affordable housing fair, a multi-ethnic barbeque and American Idol-style teacher talent contest, with 100 finalists whose acts were judged by the audience and emceed by local DJs. Teacherpalooza demonstrated the bank's commitment to education and making communities better places to work and live. The fest drew attention to WaMu's local support and increased its brand awareness in a crowded market.
